Throughout Solvang's cigar and tobacco shops, the smell of Cubans is in the air following President Barack Obama's announcement this month that the U.S. would be working towards normalizing relations with Cuba.

A Cigar Brand Blossoms

One of the last things you'll find going down Broadway in downtown Los Angeles is an actual Broadway show. From Third to Ninth Streets, Broadway is home to the country's largest collection of aging, ornate prewar movie palaces and theaters. The exteriors bloom with architectural flourishes and golden-age glamour, but most are nothing more than defunct temples of nostalgia as they loom over what is now L.A.'s jewelry district.

Imperial Tobacco Closes $13 Billion of Loans

British cigarette maker Imperial Tobacco has closed loans of about $13 billion to back its acquisition of selected brands and assets from Reynolds American Inc, the lead banks said on Monday. The jumbo financing covers the $7.1 billion acquisition and refinances Imperial's existing core bank borrowings, which provide working capital and funds for general corporate purposes.
